Dedicated to research on harvest technology with special reference to management. Main activities have been to develop selective fishing practices within deep water shrimp trawling and fin-fish mobile gears. Some activities on Danish seine, gillnets, fyke nets and small scale longlining.

 About MaReMaCentre of Marine Resource Management was
established in 2004 at the Norwegian College of Fishery Science,
University of Tromsø.
The aim of the centre is to promote
research in resource management both nationally and internationally. Special
emphasis is placed on interdisciplinary research and education.
MaReMa has its origins from the Norwegian College of Fishery Science which holds multidisciplinary research groups in the field of resource management. The groups work on topics as resource biology, population dynamics, harvesting technology, fisheries economics, bioeconomics, sociology and planning. Many of the members of MaReMa also have a long track record in interdisciplinary research.
