Centre of Marine Resource Management was
established in 2004 at the Norwegian College of Fishery Science,
University of Tromsø.
The aim of the centre is to promote
research in resource management both nationally and internationally.
Special
emphasis is placed on interdisciplinary research and education.
MaReMa has its origins from the Norwegian College of Fishery Science which holds multidisciplinary
research groups in the field of resource management. The groups work on
topics as resource biology, population dynamics, harvesting technology,
fisheries economics, bioeconomics, sociology and planning. Many of the
members of MaReMa also have a long track record in interdisciplinary
research. The centre has considerable international experience within
the areas of resource management and project evaluation.
